Course Description

Tae Kwon Do is a nonviolent sport. It is an educational system devoted to train both the mind and body in which great emphasis is placed on the development of the trainee's moral character - the builder of modesty, integrity, self-control, perseverance and indomitable spirit (Action International Martial Arts Association Student Handbook) Tae Kwon Do has established a system of goal setting and effort recognition by using a belt system starting with white belt and ending with the black belt. For every belt advancement there is a standard curriculum of techniques required. Goals might include physical improvement such as learning a new technique, perfecting ones already practiced, increasing certain flexibility, improving self discipline and self esteem, training for a certain period of time on a specific level, etc. Tae Kwon Do can be a powerful method of self-defense as well as a means of physical fitness and confidence builder. Course Requirements: Clean Socks & Comfortable Clothing
